Our founder Matthew Gherardi had the pleasure of asking the founder and CEO Dennis Savic, about the story behind Savic Motorcycles, as well as his views on sustainability and the future of electromobility.

Can you share a bit about the history of Savic Motorcycles and how the company came to be?

Savic Motorcycles was born out of a passion for engineering and a farsighted vision for the future of sustainable two-wheeled transport. Since leaving high school, I've had a desire to create high-performance electric motorcycles that could deliver the power, excitement, and emotional connection of traditional motorcycles - without the environmental impact. We launched the company in 2016 with three friends and a big dream to push the boundaries of what was possible with EVs. After seven years and six prototypes, our C-Series bike is now fully roadworthy, industry-compliant, and matching - if not beating - the riding and performance specifications of other emotos in the global high-performance market.


What sets your C-Series electric motorcycle apart from other models on the market?

The C-Series stands out because of its sleek design, cutting-edge performance, and highly personalised riding modes and communications capabilities. Our motorcycle combines a high-torque electric motor with a lightweight chassis, resulting in a ride that's not only powerful but extremely agile and responsive. We’ve placed a strong emphasis on personalising the rider’s experience, offering different performance levels to suit individual needs - whether you're after a daily commuter or a high-performance weekend ride. Plus, the C-Series has been designed, developed and assembled entirely in Australia - making it the first high-performance machine of its kind to be developed on home soil.


The first two customer bikes are rolling off the factory floor in West Melbourne this month, which is an incredible milestone for the company. Where can people go to test-ride these bikes?

Yes, it's a huge milestone for us! We're thrilled to see the first two customer bikes come to life. For those eager to test ride the C-Series, we’ll be offering rides at select partner dealerships across Australia, as well as at our West Melbourne workshop. Once serial manufacturing is up and running early in 2025, we'll be staging regular 'demo days' at various automotive and technology events, allowing people to experience the power and thrill of the C-Series firsthand. How does sustainability influence Savic Motorcycles business model?

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Savic Motorcycles. We're committed to reducing our environmental footprint by using electric powertrains, which have zero emissions, and we source all our materials as sustainably as possible. Our frame, which makes up 70% of the C-Series’ volume, is made from recyclable cast aluminium, and using high-performance lithium-ion battery cells means we’ll benefit from their high recovery rates too. By focusing on electric technology, we hope to drive a significant shift towards more ecofriendly transport options - encouraging both the motorcycle industry and consumers more broadly to embrace cleaner, greener alternatives.

What are Savic Motorcycles' plans for the future?

Our immediate goal is to scale production of the C-Series and expand our footprint both nationally and internationally. We're focused on innovation and plan to introduce new models that cater to a wider range of riders, while continuing to push the boundaries of EV performance. We’re also looking at how we can incorporate more advanced sustainable materials and technologies into our future vehicles. Ultimately, our vision is to lead the premium electric motorcycle market and be at the forefront of the electromobility revolution globally.
